if it&#039;s not too hard to solve collisions, it would be much more useful than an &#039;exact&#039; (= heavy as hell) 3D physics engine like jiglib.

I don&#039;t think that simulations (especially in flash) really need accurate collision detetcion. Oriented boxes should do in many cases.
